This upcoming bank holiday, why not opt for a ‘Staycation’ and take a trip to the seaside. We may not have the most predictable weather here in the UK, but we are fortunate to have such an extensive coastline full of beautiful beaches.

We’ve narrowed down a few of our favourite British beaches to inspire you to enjoy what is on the Great British doorstep…

DURDLE DOOR, DORSET

Durdle Door is one of the most famous stone arches in the world. Part of the Jurassic Coast’s most iconic landscapes, a great place to visit for a relaxing day at the seaside. Walk down the Southwest Coast Path to discover some stunning coves.

PORTMEIRION, WALES

Designed by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, Portmeirion offers an Italianate architecture picturing a glimpse of Italy in Wales. Stay at the stunning Hotel Portmeirion situated right on the waterfront. Portmeirion was also a favourite hang out for The Beatles. Home to Festival No.6, a multi award-winning music, arts and culture festival.

ST MICHAEL’S MOUNT, CORNWALL

CROMER, NORFOLK

A blue flag awarded beach, Cromer beach has excellent water quality and some of the best facilities including the popular pier which has a lifeboat station and a theatre. Close to the shore you will find ‘Britain’s Great Barrier Reef’, the Cromer Shoals Chalk Bed.

BOURNEMOUTH, DORSET

Bournemouth’s stunning coastline offers wide stretches of golden sands. The pier is the destination of choice for thousands of families every year. Alum Chine is one of Bournemouth’s favourite Blue Flag award winning beaches, set away from the hustle and bustle of the pier.

SALTBURN-BY-THE-SEA, YORKSHIRE

A charming seaside town, designed in the Victorian ages, on a sandy stretch of coast. It features a pretty Victorian pier, untouched by the typical tourist attractions. Saltburn-By-The-Sea is a popular surf town and was listed by The Guardian as one of the top ten surf locations in the UK.
